A course designed to give students the opportunity to practice and improve their conversation skills in Spanish.
Students who have already acquired an advanced level of grammatical knowledge and vocabulary, but that still lack the confidence, fluency and colloquialism to sustain a full and relaxed conversation in Spanish will get great benefits from this course.
Mini Lesson: POR y PARA.
The prepositions "por" and "para" are frequently translated into English "for", and thus they pose a challenge for the English-speaking learner of Spanish. In the broadest terms, "por" denotes cause or stimulus, while "para" denotes destination or purpose.
Here is one example on how both prepositions are used in Spanish:
"Un helado de dulce de leche para mi, y otro de fresa para mi hermanita, por favor." (one ice cream of dulce de leche for mi, and one strawberry ice cream for my little sister, please."
